We Are All In Flux
As a clinician, I’ve heard the same words from countless people over the years:
“I don’t understand why I’m not over it.”
“I know it’s not true, but it still feels that way.”
“I don’t know how to stop needing reassurance.”
“Why do I always do this to myself?”
Those words point to something essential that often gets overlooked in mental health. Our symptoms make sense in context. They are not personal failures. I see symptoms as a reaction to losses we weren’t prepared for and unmet needs for change. Those needs exist inside us, between us, around us, and in the systems we live in.
We are always adapting, even when it hurts, and even when the emotional cost is high.
This is exactly why I started my private practice, Flux Therapy.
Flux means flow, movement, and constant change. It reflects both an inevitable part of being human and what I believe is at the heart of good psychotherapy. Change is necessary for growth, but it is also one of the hardest realities life makes us face over and over again. Sometimes we need a little help along the way.
The Flux Philosophy is guided by the understanding that people are complex and that our responses to life are coherent when we consider their history. Lasting growth does not happen through shaming your inner experience. It happens through learning how to work with it and listening to the wisdom your nervous system holds. Therapy can help you use that wisdom to take a greater role in how you respond to life’s influences and how you grow over time.
